Lightly battered veggies for deep frying in a fondue.
Ingredients
3/4 Cup white flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 egg (separated)
1/2 Cup beer
3 1/2 Cups oil for fondue pot
8 Cups assorted chopped vegetables
Preparation
Combine the flour, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl.
Add 1 tbsp vegetable oil, egg yolk and beer.
Stir mixture until smooth.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold beaten egg whites into mixture until mixed.
Heat the fondue to 375° F.
Dip vegetables into batter and fry until golden brown.
It's a good idea to have a few dipping sauces such as honey mustard, sweet and sour, ranch, BBQ, etc.
Serves 6.
