Very tasty burgers that can be frozen until needed and cooked exactly like a meat burger
Ingredients
540 ml chick peas (including liquid)
540 ml black beans (1 large can drained and rinsed)
1/2 Cup onion (finely chopped)
1 or 2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp tahini (sesame seed butter)
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 small zucchinis (grated and squeezed dry)
2 medium carrots (grated)
1 Cup bread crumbs
1 Cup oats (instant)
Pepper to taste
Preparation
Blend together the chick peas, black beans, garlic, tahini, curry powder, chili powder, salt, oil and pepper into a paste using hand blender or food processor.
Place in a large mixing bowl, and add in onion, zucchini, carrot, bread crumbs and oats.
Mix well with hands, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Shape into patties and freeze separated with pieces of wax paper, or cook on grill/stove until brown and firm.
Can be made vegan if you use vegan bread crumbs.
Makes approximately 24 burgers.
