Simple and elegant... Crispy and sweet seasonal treat.
Ingredients
6 Apples, chopped
2 Tbsp white sugar
1 1/2 Tsp ground cinnamon
1 Cup brown sugar
3/4 Cup oats
3/4 Cup flour
1/2 Cup cold margarine
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400° F.
Toss apples with white sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl to coat.
Pour mixture into a 8 x 13 inch baking dish.
Mix brown sugar, oats, flour, and the remaining cinnamon in a separate bowl.
Use a pastry cutter or 2 forks to mash cold butter into the oats mixture, until coarse crumbs form.
Spread crumbs evenly over the apples to the edges of the baking dish.
Bake about 40 minutes until golden brown.
Serves 6
Serve with ice cream, whipped cream, or on it's own.
