Garlicky and packed with flavour. Based on the famous food kiosk rice bowl in Portland, Oregon.
Ingredients
½ cup olive oil
½ cup water
½ cup nutritional yeast
Juice of 1 lemon
5 cloves garlic
½ cup chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 tsp mustard powder
½ tsp cumin
½ tsp curry powder
½ tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Preparation
Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor, and puree until smooth.
Serve as a sauce to add to a rice bowl. Toppings: chickpeas, black beans, salsa, grated cheddar, sliced olives, sliced avocado, sour cream, chopped cilantro. Add anything else you like.
